Sacraments

Encounters with Jesus

"A sacrament is an outward sign instituted by Christ to give grace" (Baltimore Catechism, question 304).

God knew that we tend to focus on physical things, so he hides himself in physical things so we would encounter him there.

There are 3 sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation, and the eucharist), 2 sacraments of healing (confession and the anointing of the sick), and 2 sacraments of service (marriage and holy orders).
