Our Mission: Spreading Her Rosary
Meetings are held on the second Saturday from 3PM ‘till 4PM.
There is NO cost
If this sounds like something you might like to do, come on in, say “Hi” and sit down. Your desire to help us in our mission; to do what Our Lady asked of us, in spreading Her Rosary, is all the membership you need. You’ll always be welcome. Our youngest helper was only 5 years old (strung beads) and the oldest, 92. If you fall between those ages, YOU can do it too.

Our Rosary's are all over the world...
Over the years, although we’ve sent the majority of our production to Father Peyton’s organization up in New York State, for shipment to countries behind what was then the Iron Curtain, we’ve sent thousands to other places as well. From our records, we’ve sent to Moscow (hand carried in personal luggage); Guatemala; our own Parish; Charleston (Bishop Thompson); Catholic Charities of the Midlands; Conyers, Georgia; Mary, Queen Of All Nations Missionary Alliance in Dover, Delaware; St. Phelomena Shrine in Miami, Florida; Fr. Dell in Rock Hill; Fr. Kamuasayi in Ngoya, Camaroon; Our troops in Bosnia; Fr. Gorski in Peru; Fr. Peter Jose in Kerala, India; Fr. David Gudipudi in Borrampalam, India; and Sr. Corozan Agalaos in Manila, The Philippines. Of course, we’ve given Rosaries to local people who have a need, such as those who minister and take them to local hospitals where they leave a Rosary if the patient would like to have it.

Our History
In the summer of 1991 two people came together quite by accident in the Narthex of our Church and the basic groundwork of The OLOH Rosary Makers was formed. The two people were Ed Goebel (now a member of Our Lady of the Lakes) and Ms Madelyn Gross, now in a nursing home. Ed had been trying to find people to make traditional chain and bead Rosaries. Madelyn had been a Mission Rosary maker in her previous Parish in Florida. As a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ed took this Rosary making idea to his next Knights of Columbus meeting and talked up the idea of making Rosaries for the missions. He asked the Council if they’d fund it. As The Rosary is important to the Knights - new members are given a special Knights of Columbus Rosary when they join. The funding idea was well received.
The Knights began a long association with the Rosary Makers. They still, on occasion, donate when we need mailing funds. This, and donations from individual are always used for postage. A small cash fund from donors and the Knights of Columbus is usually maintained exclusively for this purpose. Our Lady of the Hills Parish picked up funding the Rosary Makers parts over ten years ago from the Parish Outreach funds that, at the request of the group, is sent directly to Our Lady’s Rosary Makers in Louisville, Kentucky. They maintain a credit account for us. The Rosary Makers can buy only Rosary parts against this credit.
Our first meeting had thirteen people attending. A total of 29 ‘cord’ Mission Rosaries were made. That began an every-two-week cycle that, for years, was rarely broken, except when in conflict with a holiday – with the meeting postponed one week. The frequency was changed to once monthly. All are welcome either to learn what to do, or just watch if they’d like. There is no cost.

The people that have received Holy communion last year are 944, Confirmation was 613. And baptized 904 children. We have received more refugees 2461...
The whole camp is now full because Congolese who are running towards us here. I ask you add more rosaries... My regards to those who help us in this mission...
