Mission Appeal:
Dear Brothers and sisters in Christ!
I am pleased to be with you and make my mission Appeal in your parish. I am Fr. Inna Reddy from the Diocese of Warangal, India. Presently, I am the pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul’s church in JANGAON in my diocese of Warangal. Earlier, I served for about 5 years in the Diocese of Charleston, South Carolina.
The need for my appeal is to construct the new parish center / Parish Rectory in my parish. The present parish centre, constructed in 1988, is in bad shape. While it has served the community well over the years, it is now an old building with leaks and is showing the signs of significant damage. . The roof is leaking and is in need of huge repairs. Unfortunately, the building no longer meets the growing needs of the parish.
Over the years, Jangaon Parish experienced rapid growth. Currently, there are 120 families in the main headquarters of the parish, and it has five mission stations, which together account for an additional 100 families. Since Jangaon is both a new district and a deanery headquarters, the population has been increasing with many migrants, a substantial number of whom are Catholics. As a result, the demands on our facilities have increased.
Five years ago, the parish church was extended and renovated to accommodate the growing Catholic population. However, the parish Center / Rectory remains inadequate, especially considering the parish's growing needs for space to conduct various programs and activities for different age groups. These include programs for children, youth, and women which are vital for the spiritual, social, and educational department of the parish community.
Given the rapid growth of the parish and the inadequate state of the current parish center/Rectory, we believe it is imperative to construct a new building. The new parish center will not only address the current needs but also serve the future needs for many more years to come.
Dear friends!
Catholic means universal. The Catholic Church is universal. The needs of the Catholic Church are universal. The need of the Catholic Church in the USA is for priests. Due to the shortage of priests, many priests from India and Africa are serving in this country.
I came here in 1998 to serve in the Diocese of Charleston, South Carolina, due to the shortage of priests. One family in the USA sponsored me through the seminary. In gratitude to what I received, I came to serve in the parish with the permission of my bishop. I was a mediator between my diocese and in different dioceses in the USA, I supplied many priests. Almost 20 priests from my tiny diocese are serving in this diocese.
We make a lot of sacrifices in serving the needs of the USA. We make a lot of adjustments, like different culture, different food and English is not my mother tongue and Spanish also. We learn and serve as Sacramental Ministers.
The church in India also has needs. Our people are poor, and you are blessed with financial resources. Please be generous when the special collection is taken up for our needs, especially to construct a new Parish Centre in my parish.
Let us help one another and support each other in our needs. One Baptism, One Faith, and One Lord will unite us and build our Universal Catholic Church.
Our Catholic Schools and colleges are known for their discipline, quality, and standards. I firmly believe that “Education is one of the best means for social change.” A good number of our students are well settled in the USA, and my nieces and nephews are in the USA. It is just because of our education in our Catholic schools and colleges.
Our priorities are Evangelisation, Education, and Social Services.
I sincerely thank the bishop of this Diocese, the Director of the Propagation of the Faith, for allotting this parish for our parish needs in my diocese of Warangal, India. I also thank the Pastor of the parish, Parochial Vicars, and Deacons for their prayers and support.

Me da mucho gusto estar con ustedes y presentar mi Colecta para las Misiones en su parroquia. Soy el **Padre Inna Reddy**, de la Diócesis de Warangal, en la India. Actualmente soy párroco de la Iglesia de los Santos Pedro y Pablo en Jangaon, dentro de la Diócesis de Warangal. Anteriormente tuve la bendición de servir durante aproximadamente cinco años en la Diócesis de Charleston, Carolina del Sur.
El propósito de esta colecta es apoyar la construcción de un nuevo centro parroquial y casa parroquial en mi parroquia. El edificio actual, construido en 1988, se encuentra en muy malas condiciones. Aunque ha servido fielmente a la comunidad durante muchos años, hoy presenta un deterioro considerable. El techo tiene filtraciones y requiere reparaciones importantes. Lamentablemente, el edificio ya no responde a las crecientes necesidades de nuestra comunidad parroquial.
Con el paso de los años, la parroquia de Jangaon ha experimentado un rápido crecimiento. Actualmente contamos con 120 familias en la sede parroquial y cinco estaciones misioneras que reúnen aproximadamente a otras 100 familias. Además, Jangaon es ahora la sede de un nuevo distrito y de un decanato, por lo que la población ha aumentado considerablemente debido a la llegada de muchos migrantes, un número importante de ellos católicos. Como consecuencia, nuestras instalaciones ya no son suficientes para atender las necesidades pastorales de la comunidad.
Hace cinco años, nuestra iglesia parroquial fue ampliada y renovada para dar cabida al creciente número de fieles. Sin embargo, el centro parroquial y la casa parroquial siguen siendo insuficientes, especialmente para desarrollar los diversos programas y actividades destinados a niños, jóvenes y mujeres, fundamentales para la formación espiritual, social y educativa de nuestra comunidad.
Por ello, creemos que es indispensable construir un nuevo centro parroquial que responda no solo a las necesidades actuales, sino también al crecimiento futuro de nuestra parroquia durante muchos años.
Queridos amigos:
La palabra "católico" significa universal. La Iglesia Católica es universal, y también lo son sus necesidades. Una de las grandes necesidades de la Iglesia en los Estados Unidos es la falta de sacerdotes. Debido a esta escasez, muchos sacerdotes provenientes de la India y de África sirven generosamente en este país.
Yo llegué a los Estados Unidos en 1998 para servir en la Diócesis de Charleston debido a esa necesidad. Una familia de este país hizo posible mi formación sacerdotal al patrocinar mis estudios en el seminario. Como muestra de gratitud por todo lo que recibí, regresé para servir en esta diócesis con el permiso de mi obispo. Además, tuve la oportunidad de servir como enlace entre mi diócesis y varias diócesis de los Estados Unidos, facilitando el envío de sacerdotes para apoyar su ministerio. Actualmente, cerca de veinte sacerdotes de mi pequeña diócesis sirven en esta diócesis.
Quienes venimos a servir hacemos muchos sacrificios. Nos adaptamos a una cultura diferente, a una alimentación distinta y a nuevos idiomas, ya que ni el inglés ni el español son nuestra lengua materna. Sin embargo, con alegría aprendemos y servimos al pueblo de Dios como ministros de los sacramentos.
La Iglesia en la India también tiene muchas necesidades. Nuestro pueblo vive con recursos muy limitados, mientras que ustedes han sido bendecidos con mayores posibilidades económicas. Les pido que sean generosos cuando se realice esta colecta especial para apoyar la construcción del nuevo centro parroquial en mi comunidad.
Ayudémonos unos a otros y apoyémonos mutuamente en nuestras necesidades. Un solo Bautismo, una sola Fe y un solo Señor nos unen y fortalecen a nuestra Iglesia Católica Universal.
Nuestras escuelas y universidades católicas son reconocidas por su disciplina, calidad y excelencia académica. Estoy firmemente convencido de que "la educación es uno de los mejores medios para lograr un cambio social." Muchos de nuestros estudiantes hoy viven y trabajan exitosamente en los Estados Unidos; incluso varios de mis sobrinos también viven aquí. Esto ha sido posible gracias a la educación recibida en nuestras instituciones católicas.
Nuestras prioridades pastorales son la evangelización, la educación y el servicio social.
Agradezco sinceramente al Obispo de esta diócesis y al Director de la Propagación de la Fe por haber asignado esta parroquia para apoyar las necesidades de nuestra diócesis de Warangal, en la India. También agradezco al párroco, a los vicarios parroquiales y a los diáconos por sus oraciones y su apoyo.
